Monthly Meetings
We usually have monthly meetings every 3rd Thursday of the month after 7pm. Venues can change so please check back regularly for details. Monthly meetings are a chance for us all to meet, chat and get to know each other. Also please see Monthly Meetings for more information.
The meetings will be on hold until around January/February 2007. The website will still be updated.

We also display other events not run by Blackpool Vegans such as gigs and Animal Rights Demo’s. These are put up as they may of interest to people these are not associated or run by Blackpool Vegans.
Photography and the Press at Events
Normally photography and the press will not be at Blackpool Vegans events, however if this is to be planned to happen below is the usuall standard practice at veggie events
If cameras are present at events, sometimes these photos will be used on this web site either as a record of the event, or to advertise similar forth coming events.
Periodically, these photos may also be used in news articles by the vegetarian press or even local or national press. Typically, a journalist would be present at such events and I will normally warn if one is to be present so you can all be on your best behaviour
Local journalists are looking for a positive story and you can be relaxed if they ask you a few questions. The more fun and friendly your answers the better. Talk about the good things about being veggie rather than the bad things of not being.
With national press you should be a bit more thoughtful with your answers and what is being implied by the questions. A journalist may appear to agree with your point of view just to make you say more - so talk slowly. Regardless of that, journalists are normally fun and interesting people to chat to and are to be welcome at our events.
So far at most other veggie groups events journalists present have either be veggie or sympathetic to our aims.
By attending an event you give consent that any photo you may appear in may be used by our group to promote vegetarianism. We would not publish any photo that portrayed any individual, or the group, in a negative way. However if it is possible to let people know of this to avoid pictures effort will be made but not guaranteed.
Any photo you send in to the group will remain your property and where possible credit will be given. The photo may be edited for aesthetic reasons.
Getting the vegetarian message to a wider audience is allways a positive message and also shows that the group exists
