Description
One of the best Thai restaurants in the UK, and thus often booked up well in advance. If you are thinking of eating here, book ahead and cancel if you have to, as dithering isn't an option in high season.
Not only are there plenty of starters and mains for vegans, there are also delicious desserts. Most of the vegetarian items are vegan, and where it is not they tend to say if it contains egg (they don't use dairy products in any of their dishes). The tastes are exquisite and the menu is clearly marked as to which dishes are spicy, so you can even avoid that if need be. Easily the best vegetarian and vegan food in Ambleside.
Enjoy!

"I just love this place that makes anywhere else locally a disappointment. All the vegetarian dishes are so, no fish paste sneaking in. Also they don't use monosodium glutimate (MSG) at all so that's great for avoiding true headaches. They don't use dairy in anything - always coconut milk, so vegans only have to worry about egg noodles - and they do have vegan rice noodles too. The food is exquisite, I especially loved the coconut and mushroom soup with lemongrass and galangal. There are even vegan desserts, with the tapioca being amazing and delicately coconutty, or you could try the custard (yes it is vegan if you ask for an alternative to the ice cream with it). Incredibly popular - you almost always have to book any night of the week in any holiday period. "

"I used this place twice, once it was rubbish, but more recently very good, They appear to understand vegan requirement well enough, but some staff's English can be weak. Wheel chair users will find the toilet very hard to use (as will wide people). Yes, book in advance. "

"Excellent food and a very alert service. Make sure to book a table a day in advance since the restaurant fills up quickly! "
