Description
Cosy vegetarian cafe that caters for vegans upon request, as the dishes are simple and adaptable. They include jacket potatoes with home-made hummus or their own veggie bean chilli, peanut butter on toast, and roasted vegetable and hummus sandwiches. There's also a special board, which includes a daily soup. Most dishes come with some kind of dairy product or coleslaw, so just be careful to ask them to leave it out or replace it.
It's tucked away from the hussle and bussle of busy Ambleside, and situated next to Stock Ghyll and opposite the old waterwheel. They have outside seating available in a peaceful setting. Bridge St is located off North Road round the corner from the Tourist Information Centre - Look out for their wooden signs!

"Fab cosy little veggie cafe. Serves great homemade cakes (some vegan), yummy soup, lovely soya hot choc and in a lush location in Ambleside. I have been to Rattle Gill a number of times, and they always have something I want on the menu! "

"A great little find tucked away from the bustle of Ambleside. Outside tables if you wish. A good selection of food, lovely cakes and soya latte's.... The home made humous was delicious. So good we returned for coffee and cake the following day. Service was quick and firendly unlike some other places we have tried in the town. "
