Vegan headline on front page of The Independent
Thanks to the Vegan Society and others in the vegan community, a positive vegan story has made it to the front page headlines of today's Independent. "An ethical diet: The joy of being vegan" looks particularly wonderful in print and read by 700,000 people. We can all build on this by responding quickly to it in the media, and spreading the word.

In a latterday version of the David and Goliath story, a complaint by registered educational charity the Vegan Society against an advertorial by giant multinational dairy company Nestle has been upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority.
The offending advertorial on an AOL women’s page contained the blatantly misleading statement: “Dairy Products – essential for healthy bones†and was found to have breached the code of advertising practice on three major grounds: substantiation, honesty and truthfulness.
